Lingerie Care Guide

Introduction

Proper care extends the life of your intimates by 300 percent. This guide covers washing, drying, storage, and stain removal for all fabric types.

Fabric Care

Cotton: machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Tumble dry low. Lasts 12-18 months. Silk: hand wash cold with silk detergent. Never wring. Air dry flat. Lasts 3-5 years. Lace: hand wash or mesh bag. Cold water, gentle detergent. Air dry flat. Lasts 2-3 years. Microfiber: machine wash cold, air dry. Lasts 6-12 months.

Washing

Hand washing is recommended. Use cool water and gentle detergent. Gently agitate 2-3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Press water out without wringing. Roll in towel to absorb moisture. For machine washing, always use a mesh lingerie bag.

Drying and Storage

Never machine dry. Lay flat on a towel or drying rack. Keep out of direct sunlight. Store bras with cups nested together. Keep lace away from hooks and zippers. Avoid plastic containers.

Stain Removal

Perspiration: pre-treat with cold water. Oil: dish soap directly on stain. Blood: cold water only. Makeup: rubbing alcohol on cotton swab.

When to Replace

Stretched band, poking wire, torn lace, faded fabric. Bras: 6-12 months. Panties: 6-9 months. Sports bras: 6-9 months.
